The actress was awarded a Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance as Dottie on A League of Their Own. The role she played as Muriel in The Accidental Travel which was a 1988 drama film that won her an Academy Award for best supporting actress. She had a character in the American horror comedy Beetlejuice and was written by and directed by Tim Burton. Virginia Elizabeth Geena Davis was born on 21 January 1955. She is an American actor as well as an activist. Davis is well-known for her TV and film acting. Davis has also received praise for playing real women in her characters and for being an advocate for women working in the industry. Davis was captivated by music from a very young age. At the age of a girl, she wanted to be a professional soccer player. In 2002, during her senior year of her high school she sustained the injury to her ankle. After recovering from her injury, she went on to play as a striker at Pleasant Hill California at Diablo Valley College where she earned an associate's degree in Art. After achieving Junior College All-American accolades, she moved onto Arizona State University. However the uncertainty caused her to give up football. Then she transferred to California State University Fullerton and completed her Bachelor of Arts in business management, with a specialization in human resource management. After her studies, she moved into Los Angeles to pursue a career in modeling acting and promotion work. After that, she stumbled across an audition for W.W.E. She was able to impress the talent scouts, and was offered the opportunity to take a test of 4 weeks when she stumbled across it on accidental. Then she moved in order to begin her training.
